On November 7, 2024, a scholarship award ceremony was organized by Islamic Relief Pakistan (IRP) at Balochistan Boys Scout from scholarship grant under the WASYLA project, celebrating the first batch of beneficiaries from their scholarship program. The event was graced by Ms. Raheela Durrani, the Provincial Minister for Education, who served as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Mr. Asif Sherazi, the Country Director of Islamic Relief, Mr. Anwar Adil, Area Program Manager of IRP, Rizwan Kasi, Senior Advocacy & Engagement Officer, Muhammad Ahsan Achakzai, Director of UAFA, Dr. Jamal ud Din Kakar, Advocacy and Disaster Risk Management Officer, and several prominent figures from various sectors.
Among the attendees were Ms. Kinza Khan, Deputy Director of Financial Aid, and 11 scholarship beneficiaries who were part of the program. The ceremony began with speeches from the dignitaries, where Muhammad Ahsan Achakzai, Director of UAFA, represented BUITEMS, highlighting the partnership and the importance of the scholarship initiative.
The highlight of the ceremony was the cheque distribution to the beneficiaries and the universities involved in the program. A cheque worth 2.6 million rupees was presented by the Honorable Minister of Education, Ms. Raheela Durrani, to the Director of UAFA. This generous contribution will help further the educational opportunities for the students involved in the program.
In recognition of the unwavering support and cooperation throughout the program, focal persons were honored with shields. The event concluded on an inspiring note, with the success stories of the students being shared, demonstrating the tangible impact of the scholarship program on their academic and personal growth.
