The Civil Engineering Department at BUITEMS organized a one-day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar on October 8, 2024, at Orange Hall. The seminar featured two highly engaging sessions:
“Sustainability-Based Innovations in Construction Materials and Structures”
“Seismic Risk Assessment of Buildings in Pakistan”
The sessions were led by Prof. Dr. Khan Shahzada from UET Peshawar, a distinguished expert in civil engineering. The seminar explored innovative practices in sustainable construction and effective strategies for assessing and mitigating seismic risks, particularly in Pakistan's seismically active regions.
The event attracted a diverse audience, including engineers, faculty members, and students, all of whom provided positive feedback on the relevance and depth of the topics discussed. The interactive sessions facilitated knowledge exchange, emphasizing the importance of adopting sustainable practices and improving structural safety in civil engineering projects.
The high level of participation demonstrated the critical need for such professional development opportunities in addressing pressing challenges in the field. The seminar was hailed as a significant success, reinforcing BUITEMS' commitment to fostering innovation, research, and professional growth within the civil engineering community.
